How we delivered the installation
1) Survey and quotation
Our surveyor visited to assess the staircase, confirm clearances and advise on platform size and landing positions. We then issued a formal quotation for approval.
2) Small building works
To improve safety and ensure the lift sat fully within the property boundary, the top tread was extended for a safer dismount and the lower steps were adjusted so the rail and platform did not encroach on the pavement.
3) Technical survey
We completed a camera-based measurement survey using reference markers on the staircase. This provides millimetre-accurate geometry to the manufacturer for production drawings.
4) Design sign-off
Once the manufacturer’s drawing arrived, we checked every detail – clearances, platform orientation and landings – before authorising production.
5) Installation and handover
Our engineers installed the rail and platform, commissioned safety systems and controls, and demonstrated operation to the homeowner. The result is smooth, reliable access with a platform that folds away to keep the route open.
